One of the most promising aspects of laser dentistry is the opportunity to do more with less anesthetic, and less damage to the tissue.

What kind of procedures can be done with the laser?

Basically we can use them for hard tissues, such as bone or tooth and for soft tissue. Nowadays there are numerous applications in which the laser can be used depending on the device that we are using. Thus, we can use it in the following dental specialties:

  1. Conservative Dentistry: for the realization of caries or removal of old fillings.
  2. Periodontal surgery: to perform gingivectomies, crown elongation and as an adjuvant treatment of gum pockets.
  3. Oral surgery: to perform any removal of diseased tissue, due to its ability to coagulate and in which it will not be necessary to give points.
  4. As a Bio-modulatory Therapy for the preventive treatment of pain and post-surgical inflammation (eg, wisdom teeth), oral thrush, cold sores, dentin sensitivity, etc.

In our office we use EPIC™ which is the latest diode laser innovation from BIOLASE.
